By making a Lasting Power of Attorney you can ensure that decisions regarding your property and financial affairs and/or your health and welfare will be carried out by someone you trust to carry out your wishes should you lose mental capacity in the future and be unable to make such decisions for yourself.
There are two types of Lasting Powers of Attorney: Lasting Power of Attorney for Property & Financial Affairs enabling you to authorise someone to make decisions on your behalf to deal with your property and financial affairs, for example, buying and selling your property and dealing with your bank accounts and other investments on your behalf and Lasting Power of Attorney for Health & Welfare enabling you to authorise an individual to make certain decisions concerning your health, social care and medical matters.
You can choose to make either one or both types of Lasting Powers of Attorney depending on your circumstances. Bailey & Cogger offers a discount for making both types.
